QUALIFICATIONS:
In addition to submitting a completed application, the applicant must meet the following qualifications:
A. An applicant must be a citizen of the United States and shall provide the necessary information to complete Federal Form I-9.
B. An applicant must possess a valid social security number and driver’s license.
C. An applicant must not have a speech, hearing, or sight impediment which cannot be corrected to a level such that he/she can perform the essential functions of the position.
D. An applicant must be able to type quickly and accurately.
E. An applicant must acceptably complete the testing required by the Center.
F. An applicant must meet all requirements outlined in the "Mules" security section, for operation of the "Mules" computer system.
Upon accepting a position with Warren County Emergency Services, all new employees must sign a copy of the three (3) year "Uniform and Training Reimbursement Agreement
JOB DESCRIPTION:
All employees are to become familiar with their individual job description in addition to their initial training and orientation. At times, employees may be required to perform duties outside of their normal job description.
I. Dispatchers employed by the Center shall:
A. Accept supervision from their Shift Supervisor, Assistant Administrator and the Administrator.
- Answer all calls (telephone or radio) in a courteous manner.
- Thoroughly interrogate the call, extract all necessary information and dispatch the appropriate agency.
- Be responsible for the recording of correct and proper times of all personnel activities relevant to the call.
- Have a thorough knowledge and complete understanding of all procedures, both permanent and temporary, as they apply to the activities of the Center and the participating agencies.
- Accept and satisfactorily perform other assigned work as directed by their shift Supervisors, Assistant Administrator, or the Administrator.
- Have a thorough knowledge of the operation of all equipment used in the Center and have the ability to operate it in the prescribed manner.
- Abide by and adhere to all rules and regulations, policies and procedures of the Center.
- Practice good housekeeping at all times.
- Not discuss Center business with anyone other than those with the need to know.
- Accept training from Shift Supervisors or other branches of Management so authorized to impart such training.
- Exert all effort to maintain high morale.
- Not consume any type of alcoholic beverage within eight (8) hours of any shift assignment or on-call status.
- Treat the confidential nature of their duties with proper safe-guarding of information to which they come into contact within the course of their employment.
